Dr. Rinaldo Walcott is Professor and Chair of the Department of Africana and American Studies at the University at Buffalo SUNY. There he is the Carl V. Granger Chair in Africana and American Studies. His last book is The Long Emancipation: Moving Toward Black Freedom (Duke, 2021). He was born in Barbados and divides his time between Buffalo and Toronto.
