Acting, Writing, and Prop Maker for the Mediaeval Play, "Ye Good Old Bard"
Description
The project I and many other classmates worked on was the play called Ye Goode Olde Bard. There were numerous contributions made by all the members of this play. My contributions involved being an actor, writer, and creating some props within the play. I’m going to showcase the props which I devoted many hours to making. The first seen prop in the play is the crown, worn by the king. The crown took lots of time to get the proportions/design right but eventually came into a reality. The sword was based off of swords used in the medieval era so that it is
accurate to the times. Finally, the shield was the most intricately designed prop I made, which involved symbolism along with protection. There were four symbols on it, the tree which represented strength, the lion which represented courage, the serpent which represented wisdom, and the sun which represented glory. All of these qualities are what the squire needs and eventually acquires through her journey after being equipped with the necessary tools. I attached an image of the three props!
