Dear Sir,
Polish professors
I write to support Professor Robert McKenzie's recent letter concerning the dismissal of the seven Warsaw professors. All these men are distinguished academics and their only crime, to judge from Polish newspaper criticism of them, is their independence of mind. The Polish Government's intolerance and crude pressure will not curtail discussion. The pretence that the views of the seven professors are somehow detrimental to socialism is a grave disservice to socialist humanism. I hope that they will be reinstated at once.
Yours faithfully,
Bertrand Russell
